Made revisions to our page on the subject of plate numbers assigned from 1907 through 1917, including the addition of version no. 9 of our table of numbers estimated to have been assigned annually. This concludes our work on the estimation of numbers assigned annually prior to 1918 until registration numbers or new data are brought to our attention that causes us to revise our estimates. DCplates.net thanks Eric Tanner for his collaboration on this project.

Modified text in the 1923 and 1924 sections of our page dedicated to 1918-1929 D.C. plates to indicate the correct color of 1924 plates, dates that plates of each year were first available to motorists, and that 1923, as suspected, was indeed the first year for which plates numbered above 99-999 both were needed and were procured from the manufacturer, all of this information being taken from two mid-1923 newspaper articles provided by Eric Tanner.

Adjusted text in the 1931 section of our page dedicated to plates of the 1930s to indicate the existence of auto plates with a P prefix based upon information provided by Pete Madsen; adjusted data in our table of security marks observed on the 1984 ("Capital City") base to indicate a plate with an "86" security mark and a lower number than had been previously reported based upon information provided by Christopher Jackson; added to the security marks section an explanation of the four-character production date codes on marks that appear on D.C plates issued from Aug. 1991 through Nov. 2000 as documented by George Balsamo in the August 2008 issue of PLATES Magazine, official publication of the Auto License Plate Collectors Assn. (A.L.P.C.A.).
